A request to “Get up to speed with the creature baits and light-weight lures” was the foundation for the planning of this session for a returning client of Joe’s.
Peter had thoroughly enjoyed his previous mission with Joe in 2025 out on the wonderfully diverse south Devon coastline. But this time around, having read, listened, and watched the accounts of the all-year-round creature bait captures that Joe and I have achieved, both within our personal and professional fishing endeavours, his request for a late-April guided session in line with his request was just what this former Doctor had ordered…
A 63cm bass, and easily Peter’s PB, courtesy of some excellent guiding, in what were wind, weather, and sea conditions typical of late-Aril, and that Joe and I have come to very much look forward to as our respective guiding seasons move up a gear.
Peter’s Words
” I just wanted to say a massive thanks once again for your help, advice and guidance yesterday. I thoroughly enjoyed myself (and the craic) with that 63cm bass being the cherry on the icing on the multi-layered cake.
As I said yesterday, you can watch as many ‘face-twitter’ videos as you like, but it’s not until you actually get out there doing it with a guide like yourself that it actually makes sense. I would never in a million years have (intentionally) have put a lure in amongst all that weed without your quiet, confident reassurance.
I am a total creature bait convert after yesterday!
