My Client Catches – Two Come at Once!

You know the saying. You wait ages for a bus, and then…

On what was an absolutely disgusting day weather wise to be out guiding my clients Dave, Lee, and Nathan. In the end, it all came good courtesy of bass of 60cm and 61cm respectively for Nathan – who’d cheekily told his friends that he’d given them a head start during the earlier sessions, but that he meant business during this one!

Trump Card

A very good angler, just over 12 months previous to these sessions, Nathan was my first ever client to land a bass on what has become a staple for me and many others I suspect – the Megabass Sleeper Craw (you can read that account here). The fishing was tough, but through some serious perseverance and a final ‘Trump Card’ to play on my part, the sessions delivered not one, but two 60cm+ bass.

The boys had come for decent-sized bass, which are actually easier to catch in December than they are in June nowadays for a variety of reasons that I’ll elaborate on within my soon to be updated Marc Cowling – Bass Lure Fishing website/blog. The other guys landed a couple of smaller bass, and lost a couple of bigger ones too I must add! But in the final hour, of the penultimate guided session of my season, as the heavens opened, lightning struck not once, but twice.
