2nd Guide Client Catches – A ‘Positioned’ Popper…

What a stunning, dark-backed bass! One that was just oozing ‘menace’ as its ecstatic captor (Stu) held her up for the obligatory ‘Grip n’ Grin!

A picture paints a thousand words, and there is no doubting that the featured image encapsulates everything that Joe and I do – which is thoroughly enjoying facilitating these educational and instructional guided sessions, whilst placing nice people onto nice bass, within some of the most beautiful seascapes the UK has to offer.

The Tackle House Feed Popper 100, alongside an excellent piece of guiding by Joe to place Stu into the corner of a cove (for reasons I reveal in the Audio Clip further down the page) resulted in this fine 60cm/5lb+ open-coastal bass.

In the course of planning for a guided session, based around the webcam imagery, swell forecasts, and predicted tide, wind, and weather conditions, I will envisage certain components being in place from the very outset – for both my clients and that of my 2nd Guide Joe’s.

An oily sea with bait fish breaking the surface layers, a swell crashing lazily up the shingle, or a zone of aerated ‘white water’ swirling and eddying within a gully all being classic examples.

However, as a professional guide, attaining to ability to ‘think on your feet’ via ascertaining the most suitable lure type for the ‘actual circumstances’ once you’re down in the beach, out on the rocks, or stood over a muddy channel, is something that, as you’d expect, Joe is exceptionally good at.

A second bass for Stu, this time landed on a black, Savage Gear Gravity Stick Pulse Tail just as the stars began to appear.

Therefore, to listen to ‘Why’ he decided to ask Stu to clamber into a particular section of the reef, in addition to why he asked him to attach the famed Tackle House Feed Popper 100 then please click ‘PLAY’ below:
