1000+ Book Sales achieved!
So this was the exciting announcement I was going to make at the end of July, but I wanted to tot up the numbers and re-check that I had actually achieved it first – 1000+ book sales of my first self-published book ‘The Lure of The Bass.’
Again, I would like to thank everyone who has purchased the book, and for those of you who have taken the time to contact me with your feedback and immensely kind comments and remarks – I am extremely grateful.
I never expected so many people to be interested in purchasing the book, or that they’ve managed to find it! Especially as it hasn’t been available from any Book shops, Ebay or Amazon, but highlighted only via my website and associated social media platforms. Something that has really surprised me also, is the number of books that I’ve posted to Europe (Spain, France, Portugal in particular) and to places such as Australia and South Africa!
Alongside the independent review written by the Bass Anglers’ Sportfishing Society here (who’ve described the book as the Haynes Manual of Bass Lure Fishing!) I’ve picked out a couple of the reader comments I’ve received, and that I think epitomise what I hoped to achieve by writing the book – simply sharing what I’d learnt myself in one whole package:
“I just thought I’d give you some feedback on your book I purchased a few weeks ago and have since read, cover to cover. An excellent read, thank you! Living in **** ******** I’d always thought I’d need to travel to the south coast of England to catch any Bass, but I was wrong. Following the guidelines in your book I ventured to ********* at low tide to assess the ground and particularly clarity of water. I spotted what appeared to be a likely spot for Bass to be lying just beyond an almost enclosed area which I later learned to be an ancient fish trap. I had to traverse about 150m of bladderwrack-covered rocks, under the watchful eye of a Coastguard crew on exercise, to reach the venue. A gap in the rocks was letting out a strong flow of water from the trap back into about 1m of sea. It was exactly low tide point and after about 4 casts I drew the lure into the flow and immediately hit into a Bass! My first ever Bass weight in at 3 1/2 pounds and was 22 inches long, what a result! Thank you for imparting your expertise in your book and for getting me bitten by the Bass bug!”
“Just thought I’ll give you some feed back on your book. Absolutely loved it full of great information, and written in an easy reading way. And to top it off, used your advice and bagged my self a beauty just under 7 lb.”
“After reading your book cover to cover (3 times!) I’ve finally started catching and seeing method in the madness of this lure addiction. Before I read your book I was starting to lose heart. Wish I was closer, I’d definitely be booking a session (or 10!)”
40 Copies left!
Out of the second run of 500+ books that I had printed I only have 40 remaining.
Will there be anymore thereafter? I don’t know is the honest answer… Maybe I could go down the ‘print on demand’ route or I could also take pre-orders and wait until I have enough of these to make it cost effective? For the time being though, if you would like to purchase one of the final original copies then please contact me via the form below:
Thanks you again to all those who’ve supported me.
